My partner and I live in a really rural area that has a burgeoning queer population. The problem we've found is that so few realize the others exist! We've been talking about doing exactly this - making a zine, or a regular physical print newsletter, that can be distributed among the community to let folks know they're not alone. Thanks so much for making a great, accessible post for the hows/whys of zine-making. We cannot organize or share information solely online anymore.

I love this! I find it so interesting how experiences come back around again. I wasn't of age for previous zine booms but I assume they grew for similar reasons; censorship taking over the traditional media of the time. I see so many people expressing a desire for print, words that can be held in their hands; zines seems like a beautiful and extremely powerful way to do this. Thank you for writing this.
